Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Fuselyn ("we", "us") collects when you use any of our products — Study Tracker, Admissions Services, College Intel, or Overseas Intel — how we use it, and who we share it with. We've tried to write this in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate. Study Tracker is an account-based paid product; Admissions Services, College Intel, and Overseas Intel are all free and don't require an account — see the dedicated section for each below.

Information we collect

Study Tracker

  • Account information: your email address and authentication credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase).
  • Study content: the syllabi, notes, to-dos, flashcards, plans, commitments, and exam scores you create or upload — this is the core data the app runs on.
  • Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage and diagnostic data: product analytics tied to your account (pages visited, features used, and subscription status changes) and error/crash diagnostics, collected to help us understand what's working and fix what isn't.

Admissions Services

No account, email, or sign-in is required. We collect:

  • Profile content: the coursework, activities, honors, and target schools you add to build your profile and Fit Score — this is the core data the app runs on. It's tied only to an anonymous session identifier stored in your browser, not to your name, email, or any account — it won't follow you to a different browser or device.
  • Site analytics: standard Google Analytics data, the same as College Intel and Overseas Intel below — not linked to any identifying information.

College Intel

No account is required to use the calculator, directory, or comparison tools. We collect:

  • Site analytics: standard Google Analytics data (pages visited, referring site, approximate location, device/browser type) — not tied to your name or any identifying information.
  • Email results, only if you ask for them: the calculator has an optional "email me my results" feature. If you use it, we store the email address you provide along with the score and schools you looked up, and send you a one-time results email. We don't use this list for marketing.

Overseas Intel

Also fully account-free. We collect only standard Google Analytics site data, the same as College Intel above — there is no email-capture or lead-collection feature on Overseas Intel.

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Provide the core service — generate study plans, flashcards, and schedules (Study Tracker), or a Fit Score and roadmap (Admissions Services) from your content
  • Send you reminder emails and account-related notifications
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Diagnose bugs and understand how the product is used, so we can improve it

AI processing

When you use an AI feature — generating a study plan from a syllabus, creating flashcards, searching for resources, or talking to the study assistant on Study Tracker — the relevant text you provide is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. This content is processed under Anthropic's standard API terms and is not used by us for any purpose beyond producing your result. Admissions Services does not use AI.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of third-party service providers to run Fuselyn. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing (Study Tracker)
  • Anthropic — AI generation for study plans, flashcards, resource search, and the assistant (Study Tracker)
  • Resend — delivery of reminder and account emails (Study Tracker), and one-time results emails (College Intel)
  • Sentry — error monitoring, so we can catch and fix bugs
  • PostHog — product analytics linked to your account on Study Tracker, so we can see which features are actually useful and how subscription status changes over time
  • Google Analytics — site analytics on College Intel, Overseas Intel, and Admissions Services, not linked to any identifying information on any of the three since none of them have accounts

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

On Study Tracker, we use cookies to keep you signed in (authentication session) and to distinguish visitors for product analytics. On Admissions Services, a cookie identifies your anonymous session so your profile persists across visits from the same browser — there's no sign-in involved. On College Intel and Overseas Intel, where there's no account or session at all, cookies are only used by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising on any product.

Data retention and deletion

For Study Tracker, we keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at support@fuselyn.com and we'll process the request. Some information may be retained where required for billing records or legal compliance. Admissions Services, College Intel, and Overseas Intel don't have accounts, so there's nothing for us to look up a deletion request against — on Admissions Services, clearing your browser's cookies ends your connection to your existing profile the same way deleting an account would. For College Intel, if you used the "email me my results" feature and want that record deleted, contact support@fuselyn.com as well.

Children's privacy

Fuselyn is intended for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and your study data is isolated at the database level so that only you can access your own records.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
